First of all – congratulations! You have started at upper secondary school and are about to embark on the next leg of your journey towards improving and expanding your English. You have already come a long way and acquired skills that many other learners of English would be envious of.

However, there is a saying in English: “You can take a horse to water, but you can’t make him drink.” In other words, you can’t learn a language without wanting to and without making an effort.

The rewards for making this effort are enormous – much larger and more important than the grade you get at the end of the year.
